About Us
Pilgrims Football Club is a non profit making Member organisation.  It is run by volunteers and employs one permanent FA qualified coach on a part time basis.

 
We aim to provide Football to Children (Boys and Girls) between the ages of 6 and 16 and Adults 16+.

 

Pilgrims are based from Challock, a village in Kent and provide football training for the purpose of; entertainment, fitness, team play development, education and social welfare for children of the local villages.

 

For the '09/10 season we have teams in the Under 8s, Under 9s, Under 10s, Under 12s and Under 16s leagues of the Weald of Kent Friendly League and an adult team with organised friendly games against Ashford District League clubs. We are affiliated to the Kent County Council Football Association and follow the rules and regulations of the England FA.

 

Training Sessions

Youth Training is undertaken at the Challock ground on Tuesday evenings 5:00pm to 7:00pm and Saturday mornings (League games permitting) 10:00am to 12:00pm

Head Coach 
Nick Dryden
Nick is Pilgrims permanent (part time) coach.
 
Nick has been coaching football in the UK and overseas for 10 years. Previously and currently he has been coaching in primary schools, local youth football clubs and also offering one to one private tuition to some children.
 
Nick has also coached and been involved with colleges, high schools, higher education authorities, universities and the police, as well as women’s and girls football.
 
As well as running his own coaching sessions, Nick is also employed by Ashford borough council, and periodically by the FA and the Kent FA. Nick has coached at school, county and national level, on occasion working with members of the English ladies team.

Ray Burrows
Adults
Ray is introducing a new adults team to the Pilgrims Football Club.  Ray has been managing an adults team for a couple of seasons and hopes by moving to Pilgrims he can start a new Under 18s and Adults teams for the 10/11 season to play in the Ashford District League.  Ray has previously played himself for Crawley Town and Brighton Boys amongst other teams.
 
John Bridgeman
Under 16s 
John has been at the club since inception and has co-managed the team with Steve Cook for eight years. Also John played as a youth with Liverpool reserves. PS the last bit was a lie.
 
Miles Morris
Under 12s Manager
Miles has managed the team jointly or on his own now for the last 4 years, looking forward to even more success this coming season.......
 
Glen Kennett
Under 12s Coach
Glen is merging some key players from the old Under 11s squad into the larger Under12s squad.  We wish him every success in the larger 9 a-side format.
 
Sarah Page
Under 10s
Sarah is continuing managing the Under 10s for the '09/10 season.  She is hoping to build upon her success from last season.
 
Andy Gooding
Under 9s
Andy is joining us for the 09/10 season, new to management and is planning to complete his Level1 FA Coaching course. He is determined to have success in the League and Cup with the boys playing their first year in competitive football.
 
Nigel Jones
Under 8s
Nigel heads up the development squad at the club covering Under 8s and 7s.
He started as a coach in 2007 and in the two years since has completed both Level 1 & Level 2 FA Coaching courses as well as a number  of courses on Brazilian Soccer Skills and coaching football with young children.
