PASS IT ON: Supporting Our Players, Strengthening Our Community

At Pilgrims FC, we’ve always believed that grassroots football should be accessible to every child who wants to play. The reality is that the cost of boots, shin pads, goalkeeper gloves and basic training kit can add pressure to families, especially when kids grow faster than the boots do.

To help make football affordable for everyone, we’re launching PASS IT ON – our new boot and kit donation initiative that turns outgrown gear into new opportunities for young players across the club.

Why PASS IT ON?

Children grow. Life gets busy. Circumstances change. But one thing that shouldn’t change is a child’s ability to step onto the pitch with confidence and pride.

Far too many families have perfectly good boots sitting in cupboards, worn for half a season before being outgrown. Rather than letting them gather dust, we want to make sure they end up with another Pilgrims player who needs them.

PASS IT ON aims to:

- Reduce the financial pressure on families

- Ensure every player has access to good-quality gear

- Promote sustainability by reusing items rather than binning them

- Strengthen the supportive, community-first culture we’re proud of

How It Works

It’s simple. If you have boots, shin pads, gloves or training gear in good, usable condition, just pass them on.

All we ask is that the items are cleaned as much as possible prior to being dropped off.

You can donate by:

- Handing items to your team manager

- Bringing them along to training/match days

- Dropping them off to the Pilgrims Café

Once donated, our volunteers will assess every item. After that, a full club-wide inventory will be shared so managers, parents and carers can see what’s available and request items discreetly and easily.

Who Can Receive Items?

Any Pilgrims FC player whose family may be facing financial difficulty, dealing with a tricky patch, or simply struggling to keep up with the constant cycle of new sizes. No judgment. No fuss. Just support when it’s needed.

We want every child to feel included, valued, and properly equipped to play the game they love.
